ULTRA CHARTERS runs offshore, bay or Texas state waters fishing charters. Some of the type of fish we fish for are: Snapper, King Fish, Ling, Dorado, Amberjack, Grouper, Red Fish, Shark and more. We also offer catch & release fishing trips. Most trips depart out of Bridge Harbor Yacht Club in Freeport, Texas. From Galveston TX, Freeport is just a short scenic 20 minute drive south along the coast, (see map below). In addition, Ultra Charters works with other charter boats in the area that provide fishing services that we may not offer. Such as charter fishing activities that may require specific types of state or federal fishing permits.

FULL SERVICE: Fishing poles, bait, tackle, boat captain and deck hand are included in these trips. Also keep in mind that fish cleaning, filleting and bagging is included once we get back to the dock.

FISHING REGULATIONS:  All individuals taking part in these offshore fishing trips are required to have a valid Texas fishing license with a saltwater fishing stamp endorsement. This license cost is approximately $30.00 and can be easily purchased at some local bait shops and or sporting goods stores such as: Academy, Cute Rate Tackle, Gander Mt., Wal-Mart and or Oshman's, to name a few. DAS BOAT:

"The Carolyn Jane" (pictured above) is a 37 ft. (42' loa) dependable Chris Craft sport fish/yacht, having a large cabin and spacious fore and aft decks complete with licensed U.S. Coast Guard captain and deckhand. She is also equipped with a sofa, galley, refrigerator, microwave and bathroom. The Carolyn Jane also has some of the latest navigational electronics and rescue / safety equipment.


SOME TRIP PREPARATION TIPS:

 WHAT'S INCLUDED: These fishing day trips typically have a 7:30 a.m. departure time and returns between 3:30 to 4:00 p.m. Bring a light lunch and beverages, no large coolers please, the boat is equipped with coolers and a refrigerator. Deckhand, fishing poles, tackle, bait and ice will also be provided. In addition, we will clean, fillet and bag your catch once we get back to the dock. All we ask is that you have a fun time fishing.

FOOTWEAR: Please do not wear shoes that will mark the deck of the boat. Tennis shoes and sandals with light colored soles or boat shoes are fine; dark colored or black rubber sole foot wear is a big no–no, Thank you for your cooperation.

ADDITIONAL ACCOMMODATIONS AT THE MARINA: Fish cleaning tables with fresh running water  -  Showers and clean rest rooms  -  Convenience store  -  Ice  -  Restaurant located atop the third floor of the marina's main building. Outside wet bar and live entertainment available on some weekends. 

TIPPING POLICY:  All gratuities go to the deckhand and are in addition to the charter fee. These individuals work exceptionally hard so please be a generous tipper. We suggest the following rates for trips consisting of six passengers:

Generous:............................................ $35.00 per person.

Average:...............................................$30.00 per person

Cheapskate:.........................................$25.00 per person

BOTTOM LINE: Most comparable fishing trips range between $1,700.00 - $2,000.00 total and due to rising fuel costs, we have increased or price slightly. ULTRA CHARTERS is now offering this trip for a total price of only:

$ 1,300.00

In the event you feel you do not have enough people in your group to do a charter, keep in mind that we may be able to schedule two or more smaller groups together in order to achieve a more cost effective price per person. THE BRIDGE HARBOR YACHT CLUB MARINA:

MAP & DIRECTIONS TO THE BRIDGE HARBOR YACHT CLUB DOCK:  Heading east from Clute on 332, exit to right just before the Inter Coastal Waterway bridge. Cross left under bridge (Sailfish Rd.) and drive until you get to the Bridge Harbor Yacht Club entrance (411 Sailfish Ave., Freeport, TX 77541), then turn left after entering.... From Galveston, travel southwest along Seawall Blvd. until you get to the ICW Surfside Bridge. Cross bridge and take your first left - this will take you to Sailfish Rd, go left, maintain until you get to the BHYC entrance, then turn left after entering.
